The agreement between us
Terms of use
These terms apply to everyone who uses Stable to Stable, whether you are advertising a horse, looking for one, or simply browsing.
Last updated: September 2026
1. Who we are
Stable to Stable is operated by Evie Abbott-Wilcox, a sole trader trading as Stable to Stable. Stable to Stable is not a limited company.
Contact: hello@stabletostable.co.uk. Our registered contact address is set out in our privacy policy.
By using the site or creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.
2. Who can use Stable to Stable
You must be 18 years of age or over to create or operate an account. When you register you confirm that you are 18 or over.
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything done through your account.
You may hold only one account, and you must not create an account on behalf of someone who is suspended or under 18.
3. What the service is
Stable to Stable is an online marketplace, matching and introduction service that helps horse owners and riders find one another for sale, loan, share and loan-with-a-view-to-buy arrangements.
We are not a party to any sale, purchase, loan, share, trial, viewing or other agreement between users. We do not act as an agent, dealer, broker or escrow service for either side.
We do not inspect horses, carry out veterinary examinations, or independently verify the health, behaviour, ownership, history or suitability of any horse, or the identity or experience of any user.
4. Adverts and profiles are user-generated
Horse adverts and rider profiles are created and controlled by users. Users are responsible for the accuracy and honesty of everything they publish.
Horse owners must honestly disclose relevant known health, behaviour, temperament, suitability and management information about the horse, including anything a reasonable rider would want to know before viewing, trialling, loaning or buying.
Riders must give honest information about their experience, confidence, capabilities, circumstances and requirements.
Adverts must relate to a real horse the user is genuinely entitled to advertise.
5. Match scores and the AI Matchmaker
Match percentages, compatibility information, conflict flags and AI-generated Matchmaker commentary are guidance only. They are generated automatically from the information users have entered.
They are not professional, veterinary, training or safety advice, and they are not a guarantee, recommendation or warranty that a horse and rider are suitable for one another.
You must always form your own judgement and never rely solely on a score or on written commentary produced by the service.
6. Your own checks before entering an arrangement
Before agreeing to buy, loan, share or take on a horse, you are responsible for carrying out your own checks. These will usually include viewing the horse in person, riding or trialling where appropriate, checking identity and that the person has the right and authority to sell, loan or share the horse, checking the horse's passport, obtaining an independent veterinary examination where appropriate, arranging suitable insurance and putting a written agreement in place.
Take an experienced friend, instructor or professional with you where you can.
7. Payments and money
All payments, deposits and financial arrangements are made directly between users. Stable to Stable does not handle, hold, process or guarantee any payment between users, and takes no commission on any arrangement.
Never pay a deposit for a horse you have not seen, and be cautious of pressure to move quickly or to pay in unusual ways.
8. Fees for advertising
Horse adverts published on or before 30 November 2026 are free. An advert published during that free launch period remains free for the life of that existing advert, including if it remains live after 30 November 2026.
Stable to Stable may introduce fees for new adverts published from 1 December 2026. Any future prices will be communicated before they take effect, and no charge will ever apply to you without you being told about it and choosing to accept it at that time.
You are not automatically enrolled into a paid service or subscription, and nothing in these terms means you have agreed now to pay charges introduced later. Stable to Stable does not currently collect any payment details for future charges.
9. Conduct, enquiries and connections
Enquiries, invitations and connections are for genuine conversations about a horse. Be courteous, be honest, and respond to people in good faith.
Do not use enquiries, invitations or connections to send marketing, spam or repeated unwanted contact, and do not pass another user's details on to anyone else.
Contact details are shared only when both people choose to share them. Respect that choice and use anything shared with you only for the arrangement you are discussing.
10. Prohibited content and behaviour
You must not post content that is false, misleading, fraudulent, offensive, discriminatory, threatening, unlawful or that raises a horse welfare concern; impersonate anyone; advertise a horse you have no right to advertise; scrape or copy content from the site; or attempt to interfere with the security or operation of the service.
We may remove or edit content, hide or archive an advert, restrict features, suspend or close an account, and cooperate with the authorities where we consider it necessary, including where a welfare or safety concern arises. Where reasonable we will tell you why.
11. Reporting and blocking
You can report an advert or a user from their page, and block a user you no longer wish to hear from. Reports are private and are never shown to the person reported.
We review reports and take the action we consider appropriate. We cannot promise a particular outcome, and reporting a user is not a substitute for contacting the police or a welfare organisation where that is warranted.
12. Our intellectual property
The Stable to Stable name, branding, site design, written content, matching logic and software are owned by Evie Abbott-Wilcox or licensed to her. You may not copy, reproduce or reuse them without permission, other than normal personal use of the site.
13. Your content
You keep ownership of the photographs, videos and text you upload. We do not claim ownership of your content.
By uploading content you grant Stable to Stable a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt for display purposes and show that content for the purpose of operating your advert or profile and running, promoting the operation of, and improving the service. This licence lasts while your content is on the platform and for a short period afterwards while backups are cleared.
You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload, including any photographs taken by someone else.
14. Availability of the service
We aim to keep Stable to Stable available and working well, but the service is provided on an as-is basis. Features may change, and access may be interrupted for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.
15. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
Subject to that, Stable to Stable is not liable for the acts, omissions, statements or conduct of any user; for the condition, health, temperament, behaviour, ownership or suitability of any horse; for any agreement reached between users or any loss arising from it; or for any indirect or consequential loss.
Where we are found liable to you despite the above, our total liability arising from your use of the service is limited to £100, or to the total amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim if that is greater.
16. Ending your use of the service
You can stop using Stable to Stable at any time, delete your adverts, and request deletion of your account and personal data by emailing hello@stabletostable.co.uk.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or where we consider it necessary to protect users or horses.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service develops. The date below shows when they were last changed, and continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
18. Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
